This project in Nice (France) shows how a movable swimming pool floor can be optimally integrated into high end residential architecture. The system is built entirely from AISI 316 stainless steel and designed for long term performance in a coastal environment with salty air. The floor structure is finished with 20 mm ceramic tiles and a load of 60 kg per square meter, allowing the system to blend aesthetically with the terrace without compromising strength or stability.
The floor can be loaded up to 100 kg per square meter and remains fully usable in every position. Even in an empty or dry pool the floor can be safely loaded. This makes the system suitable for multifunctional use, such as terraces, lounge areas or hospitality events.
The drive system consists of an integrated push chain with drive motor, discreetly concealed within the structure. Control is provided by a PLC system with internet connection for monitoring, updates and remote service.
Optional elements such as a custom corner staircase and an underwater window can be seamlessly integrated into the design process. This allows the architect to retain full creative freedom while the technical operation remains reliable and easy to service.
This project illustrates that movable floors not only add comfort but also provide a high quality, structurally sound solution within modern villa and terrace architecture.
